tracklisting: a FLYING LOTUS Glendale Galleria aa JOKER Untitled_Rsn
Clearly a huge coup for the Tectonic label this, pitching together two of the foremost producers in new music for the third instalment in this the second
Plates series. Massive excitement and expectation around this twelve - and boy does it deliver. Fly Lo lands first - his abiding love affair with the UK
underground entirely apparent. ‘Glendale Galleria’ is a dark garage cut, totally on a tip to rival Burial and 2562, and most probably surpassing his recent
matchup with Dabrye on the King Midas Sound refixes for Hyperdub. Joker surfs in here to land on the flip - on a developing tsunami of good form -
again with some heavy splits already under his belt: against TRG for Soul Motive, Rustie for Kapsize and most recently also for Hyperdub on the
zapp-tastic synth-fest match up with 2000F & JKalmata. Untitled it may be, yet Joker's side boasts the most staggering production - truly crunked
hometown Bristol styes - stealing the biscuits here, without doubt a prime contender for our tune of the year so far. Need we say - big !!
"the fever-dream reimagining of post-Timbaland R&B that is Joker's Untitled_Rsn dimantles Techno and electro entirely and rebuilds them as The
Chapman Brothers rebuild human figures " the wire
