We got some copies of a wicked Various Artists 12" on Wireblock which kicks off with Techno Don Alex Cortex's 'Reminisence' which is a juddering filthy roaring techno monster that twists and warps around Drexciya style synths. The stuttering thudding kick and rawness will rock a floor and have them begging for mercy. Next up is 'Kompoter' by Bogger with a slick futuristic electro cut with all the essential elements in the right place. A sneaky little groover and pretty handy for building a set. Dissident artist Truffle Club do a mad disco cut-up type track that reminds me of Secondo or Soundhack and it's damn funky. Then Ghosts On Tape have cool number with a slight reggae flavour that's somewhere between house, techno and dubstep.12inch compilation dropping real soon featuring 4 killer solo artists representing Glasgow, San Francisco, Berlin and Heidelberg.
This was initially meant to be our first release (in 2005 no less), but due to various issues (music, artwork, mastering and more) it has been delayed for a criminal amount of time.
We’re glad to finally get it out there, the artists featured are well worthwhile exploring more if you have time to dig a little deeper into their past releases.
Artwork was made by our man FiST from Glasgow.
