Roll Bus Roll by Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard

'Roll Bus Roll' is one of the standout tracks from the new L.P from Jeffrey Lewis and the Junkyard. The majority of the album sees Jeffrey Lewis exploring new avenues with an expanded backing band line-up but 'Roll Bus Roll' is in the traditional vein of Jeffrey Lewis's previous efforts. This suits me as I'm still unsure about the indie rock orientation of the album. an excellent folksy sing-a-long with a tasty folk jam at the end. B-side 'Broken Song' is a collaborative songwriting effort with brother Jack lewis and is a shambolic ramshackle country rock number. This should be on the album, it's a corker and reminds me of a really enthusiastic Sebadoh. Ace.

· Rough Trade Records are proud and excited to announce
the release of ‘Roll Bus Roll’ by Jeffrey Lewis & The
Junkyard.
· The B side ‘Broken Song’, written with brother / bandmate
Jack Lewis, is an exclusive new track, with the ragged rock
side of the band on full display.
· ‘Roll Bus Roll’ is taken from Jeff’s fifth full-length album for
Rough Trade, ‘Em Are I’, which represents the first time that
all of the greatest elements of his previous recordings have
formed a fully cohesive and amazing whole.
· Hot on the heels of his sold out lectures at the ICA on
the subject of the ‘Watchmen’ graphic novel (widely
reported on Newsnight and in many broadsheets),
Jeffrey is currently previewing on The Guardian online his
Jeffrey Lewis & The News video podcast series.
· Available on 7” single, strictly limited to 500 copies.
