Ring Mining by Heavy Winged and Inca Ore

5...according to our on Thu 14 May, 2009.

Heavy Winged and Inca Ore are two favourites around here and they've formed like Voltron for the excellent Ring Mining LP on Not Not Fun. On the first side you've got a typically hot 'n' heavy psych jam from the Wingedsters, augmented by Inca Ore's floaty foresty keyboard ambience when the fuss dies down a little.. It's pretty great but in theory this collaboration threw up dreams of Inca Ore's fancy vocals being added to the Heavy Winged free-rock thing and that's saved for the other side, with an echoing frenzied mad woman ranting all over one of their trademark riffaramas. Not quite the revelation we were hoping for but top drawer in the grand sceme of things!

Wild collaborative lp by these 2 deep psych visionaries. one side is a studio collab merging HW's pummeling psych-frenzy with cascading waves of IO keyboard bliss. the other side is a rare, unhinged live recording of the single time these outfits ever performing together...imagine HW with a freaked out lead singer. strange and great.
