This record left our Phil feeling happy.

Redjetson have a new album out on Gizeh Records. They've actually split up now but the album has been released posthumously. A risky business!! 'Other Arms' is it's name and it's a massive sprawling post rock/ post pop/ post emo effort bursting with syncopated rhythms, discordant guitars, melodic vocals all wrapped up in 10 songs. It's pretty epic in scale... the sound is very grand and very produced. They've obviously tried to do something else on this record as it's much poppier than the other gear I've heard by 'em. They can string a decent sounding song together and I remember really liking that 7" that did on Try Harder. I guess if you like Youthmovies or you wished iLiKETRAiNS sounded a little happier then you'll more than likely want to check this out.

What their label says...

Redjetson release their long-awaited second album 'Other Arms' through Gizeh Records on April 20th limited to 1000 copies worldwide. Recorded back in Febraury 2008, Other Arms has been a long-time coming. So long in fact that Redjetson have now decided to dis-band to pursue other interests and musical avenues. However, after creating such a magnificent piece of work, everyone involved in the making of the record knew it had to be released in some form at some point. In short - it's record that basically needs to be heard, despite the band not being able to tour or promote it in any way, years of touring with the likes of Bloc Party, 65 Days of Static and I Like Trains have ensured that interest in Other Arms will be high.     This is Redjetson's first full-length since the release of their debut New General Catalogue on Drowned In Sound in the UK and Talitres in Europe back in January 2005. Between these releases a limited edition 7" single was released on Oxford-based Try Harder Records and previous to that a split 12" with Youthmovies. Good press guaranteed in Rock sound and The Fly with many more reviews coming through. Label adverts will run in Rock Sound, Rock a Rolla and more. / “Maybe this kind of music requires so much emotional investment that it’s too difficult to carry on producing it.” Leonard’s Lair / “like the Editors slowed down a bit and fleshed out with dense, layered almost orchestral music as well as lush guitars.”  Die Shellsuit Die / “give it the time it deserves, and an incredible album full of emotion, sweeping guitars and undeniable passion will soon be revealed.” Tasty /
