Mungo's Hi-Fi/Phokus, Mr Boogie, TKR - Haffi Rock/Big Up!

Scrub A Dub is the new sister label of Mungo’s Hi-Fi’s Scotch Bonnet imprint, created as an outlet for their harder and more dubstep-flavoured productions, and with the label’s first release still very much in demand, this second 12” offers a further double-hit of weightier readings of their fresh digital dub tuneage. On ‘Haffi Rock’, the Mungo’s crew deliver a strolling dubwise stepper, coloured by youthful lady deejay vocals and deep grinding bass undertow. ‘Big Up!’ finds Phokus, Mr Boogie and TKR tossing a similar salad of ranking rootical vibes served with a thick dressing of oscillating dubstep pressure. Neither track is exactly tailor made for the tear out kids, but both still infectiously invite that slo—mo jump up response that always moves the crowd.
