OK Morrissey is a bit rubbish these days. I'm sure many of you ardent fans out there will agree that he's past his best. Though I'm no fan at all I admire the fact he's still sticking at it and I think you should too. He's highly moralised and principled and he's sticking to his guns by trying to make a career out of music. Yeah his music is a bit trad rock at times but he's in his 50's. Cock knows why I'm defending him as I'm no Smiths fan. Am trying to be all balanced and that..... You can't knock a man for walking off stage at a gig cos the smell of cooking meat was upsetting him (this happened last week in California). I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing that before so he still embodies the spirit of rock and roll in a weird way. His new single 'Something Is Squeezing My Skull' is weak but if you're a fan you're gonna like it whatever I reckon. Morrissey fans are obsessive types... Bless...The single will be backed with live recordings of This Charming Man, Best Friend On The Payroll and I Keep Mine Hidden, performed for the first time ever by Morrissey and band at Radio 2’s Live With Morrissey concert Sold Out UK Tour in May.
Morrissey is set to release a new single from his spectacular Years of Refusal LP (Polydor). Something Is Squeezing My Skull will be released on 2 x CD and 7” vinyl on 27th April, backed with live recordings of the never before performed This Charming Man, Best Friend on The Payroll (from Southpaw Grammar) and I Keep Mine Hidden (the last song recorded by The Smiths) recorded at Radio 2’s special Live With Morrissey concert at BBC Radio Theatre in London on 11th February.
Morrissey returns to the UK in May for a sold out tour including five London dates that will take in the Royal Albert Hall, Brixton o2 Academy and Mile End Troxy Ballroom. On 22nd May he will celebrate his 50th birthday at one of two homecoming gigs at Manchester Apollo. Special guests Doll & The Kicks will support Morrissey on the UK run and select European dates.
