It's nice when old things get fancy new treatments like this Daturah album, released three or four years ago on CD and now given a double vinyl upgrade courtesy of Denovali with a satisfying gatefold package and a fantastic-looking screenprint type thing on one of the vinyl sides. Usually when this sort of thing happens it's going to be a fair bet that the music's gonna be worth hearing and their self-titled debut is no different, doing the epic post-rock thing with great panache. Fans of this sort of thing will be in heaven - imagine the darker edges of Envy crossed with the emotive pull of Mono and you'll have some sort of idea what they're doing. So much of this stuff sounds tired and formulaic these days and while Daturah aren't doing anything particularly original, what they are doing they're doing very, very well and there's only 200 copies of this so you'd best look lively if you want to get in on the action!Their debut record from 2006 finally available on vinyl. For us one of the best instrumental records ever. Definitely something for fans of Mono, Mogwai or Explosions In The Sky etc.! This is the preorder version on black vinyl with a white screenprint on side D, limited to 350 pieces
