Album by Foto sees the fruits of long term collaborative efforts between Max Scott & Dylan Pharazyn come into existence. This is bedroom electronica at it's best. Tracks vary from cryptic instrumentals to all out folk-tronic pop songs. 'Inkling C' and 'Origami Swastika' see the duo at their best with sweet electronic sweeps, crunchy bass lines and beautifully constructed vocal melodies. At times they come across sounding like early Fridge, Karamasov or (maybe) Portal yet occasionally stray into Cornelius territory with exquisite use of multi-layers sonic shenanigans and uplifting rhythmic pulses. Short, simple experiments are intertwined with longer, song based compositions and the vocals help keep things on track and ease the journey for the listener. Also worth mentioning is the excellent stripey artwork. An interesting and upbeat release worth further investigation.
