Mexican Kids At home - Recycled Songs For A Happy Environment

I always like WeePOP! time, I don't think I've disliked anything I've heard on the label so far despite the fact they deal in stuff that I don't really have too much interest in. Mexican Kids at Home I do have an interest in, firstly because the name is quietly intriguing and secondly because they're good. Brian and I are currently admiring the second tune on this 3" CD which marries a slightly distorted Vampire Weekend-esque riff to a lazily conversational male vocal. The next one changes up completely with a fiddle on the go and a girl's voice joining in to give something of an indie-pop Fairport Convention feel.. Then it's on to banjos. Or ukeleles, I can never tell. Recycled Songs for a Happy Environment is cool stuff from what is clearly a highly talented band with a diverse range of influences! That sounded well 'reviewy' didn't it?
