Plastic Zooms - Under///Black

Under///Black by Plastic Zooms

Here's a 7" that's just arrived from the Plastic Zooms who are Japanese. That feels like a selling point to me so I thought I'd throw it into the mix. 'Under///Black' is the name of this little plastic thing and for what it is I quite like it. Energetic noisy indie rock with a Duran Duran-ish guitar and the vocalist clearly has a penchant for Mark E. Smith. It's kind of wonky and loud... It's a bit rubbish but I kind of like it at the same time. I actually think it might be pretty good but I feel so confused right now by everything that's going on that I really couldn't say. Life is ever so complicated! The flipside is a remix of the same tune by Dandi Wind whose name has always been special to me. Brian has parped up that it sounds like Zongamin. There you go!
