The fourth (or sixth by original programming) release on CURT pairs up 12k staple Seaworthy with fellow Sydney musician Scissor Lock. "Summer Sketches" is a duo of pastoral miniatures sparked by the tumultuous Australian summer of 2009. Limited to 100 copies.
1. Mountain Fox And Sky (Seaworthy)
2. I Know Where Summer Goes (Scissor Lock)
Total Length 20'00"
Audio Both Seaworthy and Scissor Lock have worked prodominately within the realm of slow moving, home-assembled, organic ambient music, and both tracks here see the two artists moving into new territory. While Seaworthy, in its decade long past has eschewed the use of computers in the live set up, the track provided sees a greater sense of textural progression, and incorporates the newer, less organic tools with great sensitivity. Scissor Lock's end is a loop-based composition, evolving from slow, cut up guitar swells and vocals, to cathartic clarinet. The evolution here is intended to highlight the balance between the organic origins of sound, and the electronic elements that transform it.
Package Inside a 3 inch plastic sleeve, one sheet of maroon card covering the back, and half covering the front, revealing the front of the insert, a photograph taken in a corridor between factories in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia on a cheap Pentax.
