Lapels have packaged their 7" in some sort of loincloth and we've established here in the office that this makes the record an instant solid buy since you can wipe your arse with the packaging if you don't like the music. When I lived in filthy student accomodation and didn't want to buy the toilet paper YETAFUCKINGGAIN I sometimes used to have to make do with a page or two from the NME and I'd try to choose a picture of the most deserving recipient, like Bono or perhaps someone from Alfie or something. I dunno, it was around the time of all that 'New Acoustic Revolution' shit. This Rocket Footage EP houses four tunes (with a CD copy included, bonus tracks and all) of lo-fi guitar indie that sounds like it could either go down the WeePOP! path or the early 90s slacker fuzz route any minute but instead straddles the boundary in quite a satifying way. On Philophobia, with BADGES YAY YAY YAYPHOP006: Rocket Footage EP featuring Lapels and Sponge Wings available to pre-order now for £3.
Tracklisting: Side A Lapels 'When We Were Evil', 'Abemantis' Side B Sponge Wings 'Ice Cream Headache', 'Ruby's Apparatus'.
