Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian by Prefuse 73

5...according to our on Thu 16 Apr, 2009.

Prefuse 73 is back with a brand new album called Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian which is nice. The cover has literally split the office in 2. Well I think the sleeve is a bit dodgy whilst Business Lady and Brett are thinking it's total genius. I can never get my head around those proggy sleeves. It kind of looks like a screeen shot from halo with some space suited wonder surrounded by some otherworldly shit. You know the more I see it the more I wanna get down and party with Brett and Business Lady with it. Could be some hapless threesome fun. I'm sure they'd arrest me. Anyway it's good to hear Mr Heron back on form as his new album sounds like it's doing the biz on 2nd listen. It's certainly better than his last couple of albums. It's more of your funky jerky cut up leftfield psyche hip hop with soul and warmth which is what you'd expect from Mr 'Chop' Heron. This does it in spades and I have to say I'm keen. It's great to hear someone pack as many ideas as most bands have in a lifetime on to one album. It's probably just showing off but I don't think he is. The initial copies of the CD come with a bonus 3 track fancy looking clear CD thing with exciting things on.... Nothing with the vinyl and no download code cos Warp hate you. I heard they were coming round to your house to beat up your gran before you get home from work. That's how much they hate you.

· Prefuse 73 (aka Guillermo Scott Herren) is one of the most
renowned producers of avant-rock and hip hop around today. Over
the past 12 months he’s remixed the likes of TV On The Radio,
Pelican, BLK JKS and Cornelius, as well as having collaborated in
the past with Battles and School Of Seven Bells.
· Instructed by the process and purity of analogue recording, this
album is a seminal work, a flowing body of work segmented into
29 tracks, powerful instrumentation and gentle psychedelia.
· Here’s what some other artists had to say: “Industrial electro
popsych!” - Cut Chemist; “All the sounds on this record are as
distinctive as a vocal... even the drums are lyrical” - Isaiah Ikey
Owens, Mars Volta; “A.D.D. concentration for the D.A.D.
generation. 49 precious minutes of sweet vindication” - Andy Votel.
· There will be a limited edition bonus CD (500 copies) sold
with each copy of the CD format, exclusively available to
independent retailers. The bonus CD includes two previously
unreleased tracks (one from his forthcoming EP, one only previously
available in Japan).
