Static Caravan likes to chuck limited CD's at us and here's a cracking one by St Just Vigilantes. I don't remember the album sounding this good!! Here you have (what sounds to me!) one big fat sweaty song cut in half and sandwiched with 2 short floaty electronic drifty fluff bits. The big fat sweaty song - The Angel in the Angle - Live in London- is a big psych workout which which reminds me a bit of Grails (as it did Brett when he heard it). As it's recorded live the sound is very full sounding. It sounds very dense in fact but all very clear at the same time. I reckon that last sentence will do nothing but confuse you. They sound like they'll be worth checking out live though. It comes in a gold hand stamped sleeve and is limited to 100 copies. We ain't got many so it's a one per person jobber. Nice drum sound too!

As the first October snows to fall in London in thirty six years made soft the Buckingham walk and the fog wet leaves gyred their fallen adorations in the low breeze; the Vigilantes alighted upon the stage in the spire cast shadows of dark and sharp Westminster, with rose grenades exploding in the palace of the dream brigades, with melodies burnt and mangled, to assail the gathered with séance fiction tales of Twelver prophets and angels hidden in the angles. Witness: So sorrowing men, during the lightless winter of the world, drowse in the earth; but when the world is transfigured and acquires an everlasting spring, they emerge at the first sounds of the Vigilantes, and being borne aloft in the sweet air to meet them, and being called to their left hand, are transferred to the true battle, to the true liberty of the sons of The Vigilantes.
