Under the indie-credible banner of PopArt London, Brontosaurus Chorus reveal their first album. Throughout the 7 tracks included on “You’ve Created a Monster”, the North London 8-piece, demonstrate that they are truly more than equal to the sum of their parts. The music is woven together with sublime bubblegum-pop vocals which match beautifully with the sweetness of the lyrics that dribble out of song titles such as "Now We’re Making Out" and "Cinnamon Taste", all combining to create perfect indie-pop. Previously compared to the likes of The Polyphonic Spree and Belle and Sebastian, Brontosaurus Chorus burst onto the Indie scene of their native London in December 2006. Quickly building a reputation for joyous, life-affirming live shows, within a year the band had doubled in size from the original quartet to resemble some kind of pop octopus; eight different colourful characters vying for your attention and yet moving as a unit (brought to life in the incredible animated video for the albums opening track Love Is The Path To Self-Destruction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiEgycniwy4) . In October 2007, Brontosaurus Chorus released their first single on the PopArt label, a limited edition pink 7” record split with Worcester clatterpop kids And What Will Be Left Of Them? The single, which rapidly sold out, only really hinted at the band's potential for crafting catchy, leftfield pop music. Such was the reception received in their home districts, the outfit ventured out on tour around the UK. In 2007 and 2008 they rapidly confirmed a natural affinity with summer festivals, elating audiences at Indietracks and Ireland’s Electric Picnic, not to mention gigs in Germany and Holland. The band have shared the stage with an impressive roll-call of acts in their relatively short existence; Los Campesinos, We are the Physics, David Devant & His Spirit Wife, Ruby Suns, Micachu, Laurel Collective, Polysics, The Indelicates and Mirror Mirror to name a few. With a CV like this, it comes as no surprise that Brontosaurus Chorus have built up a solid fan-base in London; real music-lovers hungry for something more substantial than the latest fad. Support from indie radio shows including Phoenix FM and Dandelion serve to enhance their cult status and familiarity. With this release, however, a wider championing seems imminent. Got in to this band through their excellent Louisanna single and decided to check out their debut...and was spellbound. The loved up summertime punky pop contrasts beautifully with the albums heartbreaking autumnal closer 'The Plot' add to this the cheeky indiepop fun of 'David Bowie' and the epic wall of sound monster of 'Cinnamon Taste' and you've got one hell of a debut!
