Here's one of many new releases on the Blackest Rainbow label this week by Plankton Wat. Which is Dewey (I always wanted to be called Dewey) from Eternal Tapestry/ Jackie O Motherfunner. This is one of the more sedate of the Blackest Rainbow releases. The 1st few tracks on 'Visions of Otherness' are pretty much just widdly acoustic guitar which is reminiscent of Alex Tucker and that kind of off kilter medieval folk. It does go more feedbacky and droney later on and the noise kicks on. Big tribal drums and feedback giving birth to a musical monster... well that's only 1 track and the other 4 are much more mellow. It's lush sounding stuff and defo one of the highlights of the labels recent output. Limited CD edition of 200!!Follow-up to last years CDR on Stunned and cassette on DNT from Dewey of Eternal Tapestry/Jackie-O Motherfucker/Bloodbiker... Opening with some very nice guitar layered with relaxed vocal bursts, the following tracks have a super nice guitar vibe to them. 'In the Realm of Magic and Death' has a more distorted dark aspect to it with an almost tribal ritual drum layering. The disc climaxes with an almighty piece entitled 'Transfiguration of Infinite Nature', wailing guitars, pounding drums, droning vocals... Expect more from the Wat on BR later in the year! Limited to 200. Pro duplicated with on disc print.
