This record left our Ant feeling ecstatic.

The first time I heard Tim Exile's 'Family Galaxy' track on his Myspace player I picked myself up off the floor brushed myself off and hit play again. A tune that takes it's cues from many aspects of electronic music, both classic and current with a real sense of pushing music into the future without being all anal and academic about it. 'Family Galaxy' is a journey that begins with hip hop beats then into a skewed cosmic synth pop world with lush melodies and panning vocals with astral lyrics. As you get into the tune there are lots of complex elements that become almost disorientating. However, as clever as all the trickery is, this still holds down a tune despite the unexpected twists and turns ...Then the kick slowly builds and the intensity increases and before you know it your head is floating in space. Astonishing production from somewhat of a whizzkid on the old hardware. Then just as you're mentally exploring the cosmos the drums switch into bombastic jungle beats that are always building with a vocal chorus that's insanely catchy. Then before you know it your in breakcore/gabber land with pummeling fast beats that just make you wanna go wild. Proper feel good party music. Astonishing kaleidoscopic, unique, original, fun music. Tunes like this don't come around very often. Every time I've played this it's given me goosebumps and I just notice something I'd not noticed previously. All the elements of what make electronic/dance music exiting have been compressed into this odyssey. This track is ultra fresh alert! Ltd 12" joint release on Warp/Planet Mu.
