Here's a split CD by Wereju and Hour Glass Drops on The Dead Pilot label. It's limited to 40 copies so I figure by the time I get to the end of this sentence it's probably sold out. These things happen.. I'd like to think a wereju is a Rabbi who turns into a werewolf. I remember when I was young I stayed with a rabbi for a bit and Jewish folks have a tradition where they don't cut kids hair or fingernails until they were 3 years old. They had a little boy whose 3rd birthday was looming and he looked like a werewolf. Big claws and long hair... A (young) wereju.....It was well weird and now that's all I can think of. Oh the sleepless nights again... This is more spacey ambient haunted drone music which we all love and some of you do as well. It's 70 minutes long and I don't have time to play it all but what I've heard fits neatly into the above bracket. Comes in a nice hand assembled carboard package job which is genuinely lovely. A wee treat for all of you ambient drone fuckers (of which I am one!)The fifth entry into the Dead Pilot Split Series pairs up up and coming minimalist/experimental artist Hourglass Drops and the Irish drone king Wereju. Hourglass Drops brings us 3 subtle and haunting pieces of electronic ambiance with spiraling synths and warped samples. Deep drones build from soft pads to buzzing industrial tones. Very minimal. Wereju brings us 4 tracks of smog covered doom ambiance and drone. Sharp icey swells over dense layered guitars and organs. Very hypnotic with tiny hidden melodies beneath the fog. Over an hour of fantastic dark sounds for your winter nights. Limited to 40 copies in card digipak with photo art work by Hourglass Drops.
