More vinyl offerings from Blackest Rainbow this week. I'm covering the Nackt Insecten record which is an alias of Ruaraidh Sanachan who runs the Sick Head Tapes label and released a cassette on Blackest Rainbow a wee while back. Thus this relationship has yielded some fine results with The 'Quantamn Odyssey' tape on Sick Head now being available on vinyl. This record has pricked up our Brett's ears making comparisons with the cosmic synths of Harmonia. These psychedelic tones and drones are hitting the spot in the gloomy office acting as a rays of audio sunshine. I'm reminded of the swirling synth stuff that Astral Social Club do at times. By the time we get to the last track on the first side I'm levitating nicely above my keyboard and looking down with my third eye. Quality stuff in black jackets with comedy (?) paste on art.Amazing new LP from one of the UK's best psychedelic sci-fi drone blokes, total bliss drones layered repeatedly causing some truly stunning brain melting moments. Think ancient temples in the amazon being ravaged by thunderbolts of bright electric psychedelia. Totally amazing, everyone who has heard this so far has been blown away... Paste on art, quite possibly the most awesome 70s/80s b-movie inspired cover art I have ever seen... Edition of 300 copies.
