Yes! Top scratchy new-wave pop Swedes Love is All have returned to the fray with a brand spanking new album. Don't know why but their songs make me shiver with delight, I think it's the slightly "hauntological" way they sound trapped in this post X-Ray Spex bubble whilst being totally distinctive master song writers beamed in from the planet bubblegum. 'A Hundred Things Keep Me Up at Night' just gallops along in a joyous anthemic fashion, the songs buried in their usual sheen of lo-fi fuzz but constantly loaded with addictive hooks & euphoric flourishes, all topped with that slightly giddy female vocal we've all grown to love. On second listen, they've not compromised any of their integrity, in fact they've been ditched by EMI and are now back on safe ground on the spot-on NY indie What's Your Rupture? I have to say I was unsure about the song Wishing Well as it TOTALLY rips off 'Tally Ho' by The Clean, to such an extreme I think they should donate some money to a Kilgour & co. approved charity or something. There's one of those mid-album sags around this point but it does pick up towards the end, spiky, energised & tight post-punk pop with jump-up choruses and especially of note, a M/F call & response "ballad" - A More Uncertain Future - that is genuinely lovely, it could be a Peter Bjorn & John classic. So much more killer than filler (we all know how many indie bands toss out lacklustre albums with alarming regularity. This bunch have a great deal more mettle & a very lovable sound they're not deviating from. The CD & LP both INITIALLY come with a free hand stamped w/label 7" exclusive to a handful of places including US!
