Hoodz - Bad Mind/ Clash

Bad Mind/ Clash by Hoodz

Its amazing what 6Blocc has been able to accomplish in the last year or two. From the ‘Analog Clash’ top pick mix CD, to three Euporean tours, and releases on a slew of labels including War, L.A.D.N., Tribe Steppaz, and his own new imprint, 6Dub, it seems like he must have figured out a way to fold time and space in order to get more out of the day. Somewhere in that space/time jump, he managed to get together with LA's UOME, and together they did a series of tracks under the guise of Hoodz. The strongest of those collaborations is ‘Bad Mind’, a full volume dose of the energy tidal wave that 6Blocc has made his trademark, mastered to startling effect for absolute, unadulterated devastation. Awash with echoing dub effects and deejay shouts, ‘Bad Mind’ fights a running three-way battle between rattling percussion, huge rolling sub-bass, and a righteous steppah swing. Flipside ‘Clash’ is another dark destroyer, first heard on ‘Analog Clash’ and now here on vinyl for the first time. Warrior-Charging horns establish a dread landscape across which pummeling bass, minimal beats, and spaced-out effects make for a superheavyweight rootical groove. The bigger they come, the harder they drop, and you won’t find too many larger than these Hoodz.
