Aww, Chemikal Underground.. I remember getting the little magazines through the post when I was younger, they were well tardy about sending those out but when they did I'd occasionally reward them by buying a hat or a Magoo 7" or something. I was sure I'd heard De Rosa before but now they're on they don't sound remotely familiar. Preventon's got a decent helping of your typical over the border indie kind of sound, augmented with light electronics and featuring very Scottish-sounding vocals from both birds and blokes singing lyrics which are a bit depressing, to be quite honest. It's nice though, and the CD's very lovingly packaged n'all! Vinyl coming in a bit..· De Rosa with a new album boasting original artwork by
Glasgow’s literary titan Alasdair Gray.
· De Rosa’s strengths lie in their ability to fashion
unforgettable melodies from unconventional song
structures, Henry’s contemplative, vivid lyrics often
referencing local areas from his native Lanarkshire.
· The album features guest performances from Life
Without Building’s Robert Johnson and Mogwai’s
Barry Burns.
· UK headline tour in March & April.
· Available on CD, download and limited edition
vinyl LP (500 copies only).
