Dan Deacon/ Adventure - Dan Deacon/ Adventure

Dan Deacon/ Adventure by Dan Deacon/ Adventure

3...according to our on Thu 19 Feb, 2009.

Whenever I've heard Dan Deacon before I've thought that his stuff's just like the "where's the ice-cream" bit on Nathan Barley only worse, and without the element of parody. To be honest, this 12" isn't quite as bad as I was expecting and I'm sort of enjoying it on some weird level. The first one's sort of like Lightning Bolt playing synths over Klaus Dinger beats but saturated with milk from the numpty cow. I dunno, I know loads of people really love this guy and I can't imagine them being disappointed with this.. I'll stick with Deacon Blue though. Adventure contribute a hi-NRG 8-bit disco Crystal Castles sort of tune (ruining Blade Runner forever with sample use that's bang out of order) and a final track which is actually dead good fun, despite on the surface being as annoying as everything else on this yellow vinyl discypoo.

Carpark celebrates the beginning of 2009 with a split 12" by Dan Deacon and Adventure.

Limited edition yellow vinyl-only release of 150 only for UK!.

Get Older is a taster from the highly anticipated Dan Deacon full length Bromst. The guitar parts are performed by Matt Papich (Ecstatic Sunshine, White Williams).

Adventure’s side starts with an oldie and ends with a newbie. The first song Poison Diamonds is like an 8 bit Lego masterpiece built by a 10 year old living on another planet.  The second song, Lifeguard, is the most recent from Baltimore’s Adventure. The lyrics were inspired by Dan Deacon after Benny (aka Adventure) played him the instrumental track.  It is the first Adventure song to feature Benny’s voice, and is slower and poppier than his previous video-game sounding work.

Poison Diamonds is also available on the Adventure self- titled full length on Carpark. The Adventure song Lifeguard is exclusive to this release.
