Got a Tenser 12" on the wheels here and this one features Rosie Brown on vocals. Brian is reminded in essence of the first Leila album and R.O.C. Then Brett is reminded of some Bristol trip hop gear and then Phil pipes up that he's reminded of the vibes on Burial's 'Untrue' which is pretty spot on on all accounts. I don't need my brain anymore. I don't know why I even bothered coming into work today when my esteemed colleagues could just review them all for me. Having said all that this does have a highly original thing happening Some lovely dubby effects on 'Swaby Dub' giving off some Augustus Pablo style melodica with snarling bassline buried in the mix. 'Turnaway' is out on new label Kelvin. We also have another 12" by these guys but not had a chance to spin it yet.First release from TENSER, Turnaway and With Me pit spaced out Techno vibes against warped basslines and yearning vocals, which float on through from a distant plane, whilst Organ Rocker and Swaby Dub are two instrumentals which mix ethereal electronic textures with insistent percussion and a murky kick, whilst sliding bassweight sullenly drifts amongst the beats to unsettling effect.
