John Barrett's Bass Drum Of Death - Stain Stick Skin

Stain Stick Skin by John Barrett's Bass Drum Of Death

4...according to our on Fri 27 Feb, 2009.

Unlike John Barrett's Bass Drum of Death. Being both a drummer and a slayer of mankind this appealed greatly to me. It's a limited 7" on Fat Possum which sounds like it could have come out on In The Red. Scuzzy blues rock not unlike the Blues Explosion with some little Cramps esque wibbles here and there. I like it! Stain, Stick Skin is 7" wax only!

•    WHAT: One-man-band garage rock lunacy
•    FOR FANS OF: Jon Spencer, White Stripes, Sonic Youth
•    LISTEN: http://www.myspace.com/johnbarrettmusic

•    Fat Possum extremely ltd 7” series – LIMITED TO 100 for the UK!!!
•    John Barrett is a visonary, as JBBDD is a one-man-band with a huge sound. Equal parts Hasil Adkins, Junior Kimbrough, Jon Spencer and all parts John Barrett, JBBDD does thing the old fashioned way: guitar, vocals and kick drum.

•    Barrett has one-upped The Black Keys and The White Stripes by stripping his blues-garage rock band down to a single member. Or is that one-downed? Either way, in Barrett's case, the rudimentary percussion complements his rawboned songs.

•    He sings and plays grimy blues licks along with whatever percussion he can bang out with maracas, tambourines, handclaps and, of course, his bass drum. His songs are just as fast, loose and sloppy as his tales of death and general bad-assery deserve.

•    New 7” from the recently signed highly acclaimed Fat Possum artist
•    Limited edition dinked 7”
