Volcano The Bear - That People Don't Know They Are Monsters

That People Don't Know They Are Monsters by Volcano The Bear

I'm ashamed to say that I thought Volcano the Bear were a shit US Pitchfork indie type band when they're actually something completely different and cool. This 7" features 'That People Don't Know They Are Monsters' on the A-side which sounds like that last Matt Elliott LP being played by dying clowns, a peculiar folk dance for a haunted gypsy caravan. The other side has 'Bow Heavier My Lord' rocking what sounds like a heavily processed digeridoo and some cracking tom rolls, evoking the image of tribal music for humanity's second prehistoric period after the bomb drops and we've all got to start all over again, only this time there are a few effect pedals lying around for us to stomp on while our loincloths flap. Aw yeeeeah. The only downside is it costs more than a Dischord LP.

   1. Side A: “That People Don't Know They Are Monsters”
   2. Side B: “Bow Heavier My Lord”

You may think it's a ballad, noise, tribal shamanism, folk or acoustic.

But it's not really.
