New Rhodes now. I'm pleased to announce they're still doing that hugely anthemic guitar pop that reminds me of a less twattish (early) Killers crossed with some classic Britpop shapes and the air punching touch of modern stadium indie ala Editors/White Lies. They write incredibly bouncy & memorable hooks that I just can't bring myself to dislike. Me & Philly always said they had that certain je ne sais quoi that others were lacking and on the strength of 'The Joys of Finding And Losing That Girl' I'm inclined to stick to my guns. Officially better than most of the bands who are more famous than them, this should be on drive time forever. 7" on Salty Cat.* Having rewarded their fans with the free digital single ’Everybody Loves a Scene’ at the end of 2008, New Rhodes kick off 2009 with the dance floor filling single ’The Joys of Finding and Losing That Girl’.
* In the words of James from the band, "The Joys of Finding And Losing That Girl" "is a poppy, classic love song and I’m pretty proud of that. Three minutes and two seconds ... it’s basically a relationship squashed down into three minutes. I was prophesising the end of a relationship. I basically wrote my own future before it happened. "
* All of that set to the sort of catchy, melodic but edgy music at which New Rhodes excel.
* Limited to 500 copies only.
* Their second album ’Everybody Loves A Scene’ is released at end of February.
* Tracklist: 1. The Joys Of Finding..... 2. Primrose Hill
