Au Revoir Simone now, with a red vinyl 7", also on Elefant. Now this is the business. 'Summer Lines' reminds me in essence of Lali Puna's more gentle moments. A lulling keyboard over a casio style drum pulse & a dreamy sing-song female vocal that blows air gently into your ear cavity. There was a CD by a Swedish act called Adria I recall from years ago. Really minimal, brittle electronic pop with this sort of vibe, full of understated harmonies and a glazed with a classy European feel. Quite cherishable indeed, The flip 'Haunted House' recalls early Human League before a swirling keyboard jaunts into the picture and the chuffing beats go well Kraftwerk, a really playful instrumental oddity. What a pleasant surprise!Limited edition, red vinyl from Brooklyn trio.
AU REVOIR SIMONE have released two delicious albums, various singles and a recent release of a compilation of covers and remixes to date. A few of their songs have been included in the TV series, 'Grey's Anatomy' and NME has described them as the missing link between LADYTRON and CAMERA OBSCURA.
