The Real Tuesday Weld were gonna be massive a while back. There was some song which was used in an ad and it was all gonna happen for 'em. Of course that didn't happen what with the music industry being all music industryish about it. Here's a 7" by 'em called Last Words on Antique Beat Records which is pleasant commercial sounding indie pop. It's gentle gear which sounds a bit like Maps, Death Cab For Cutie and someone else. That someone else though I can't get and it's bugging the shit out of me. I wont sleep tonight. It's very sensible anyway and today I'm feeling a bit sensible at the moment."Over Elgin Avenue, a helium balloon Disappears into the sky.." 'Last Words' is the first single released from 2008's 'The London Book of the Dead' - an album which has garnered two national album of the week awards (The Independent and Sunday Times) and a wide range of international critical acclaim. The song is a love letter to the city and a remembrance of final meetings. The song scores the final scenes of the new US indie hit 'Nick and Norah's Infinite playlist' (released in the UK in February) featuring Juno star Michael Cera and features on the No 1 selling soundtrack album. After US and European shows, the band are returning to London to play at the National Film Theatre on 26th February following December's installation for the Victoria and Albert museum's Cold War Modern exhibition.
