Here's another of those nice Russian CD's on Lagunamuch Community. This one is by OID and it's hilariously called 'Systems Of Mercy'. No gothtronics on here... just cool crispy icy sounding Russian electronica. I do like the clinical cleanness you get of Russian electronica. This inhabits the less beaty side of things and fits squarely inside the ambient bracket. Occasionally the odd hint of techno peaks through but on the whole it's nice ambient electronica which is as as warm and sparkly as it is icy and fresh sounding. Hand numbered of 1000 copies on CD only. Lovely stuff indeed!!Oid
0ID is one Andrey Antonets, who is a member of Alexandroid, but solo creates his own ambient music. I think it's played on analogue synthesizers, and it's not the tapestry sounds of Hypnos but more the stripped down version of ambient house music. Things move a little bit, there is arpeggio's on the piano, and even a bit of percussion. However the highlight of the cd is the fourth track, which started out with a voice going through a vocoder, later on forming a duet of voices and brings it close to space age popmusic. That is absolutely a great piece. Even with such a title for the cd things can't go wrong.
