Victorian Photography by Prurient

Hmm, Prurient! Just what you want first thing in the morning. As usual, this sounds like the mind of a Nazi war criminal. The A-side is a terrifying version of 'London Bridge is Falling Down' which cements the notion with audio that probably would make it crumble a bit if it was played loud enough.. Static, screaming and drilling noise-horror. Mint. The other side takes a (relatively) more melodic power electronics tack and could almost be a dodgy dubstep track being scraped on a 100ft cheese grater with its little bits of wobble and all. It does let up for a pleasant vocal interlude which suggests some Norwegian black metal fella might have accidentally been pressed on to the grooves at the factory.. 'Victorian Photography' is music in the format of a 7" on Turgid Animal, limited to 500. If they sold more the world might be irreparably damaged.

Self described as some of his best material to date, Domick Fernow's Prurient project just keeps getting better and better. Recorded in the Summer of 2007 in NYC. Daydreams of the Victorian past. Highly focused synth projections over a bed of crunched static, screamed vocals, children's song echoing from the bottom of a barrel. Creepy religious themes creeping in. The second Prurient release on Turigd Animal so far and here's to more in the future! 500 copies on black vinyl in pro printed, double sided sleeves. 45RPM. Available in the USA from Hospital Productions.
