There was literally a time when I would have shat myself, changed my trousers and shat myself again just to get ahold of this new double pack 7" on Skin Graft. Sides 11-14 is one of those fancy 7"'s with a full comic and the line up this time is Mule (with an unearthed tune), Pre, Colossamite and Yowie. Alright there's no Shellac or Palace on this one but it's early days yet and Colossamite could be next years christmas number one (only is someone kills Simon Cowell first.. if there's a donation fund for this I'll happily donate...). Mule's tune is called Have A Drink On Me which our Brian took a bit too literally as he knocked PW's pint over or something. He's told me many a time and I've rudely forgotten the exacts.....It's classic Mule gear recorded by Albini and it's what you really wanted Blueshammer to sound like. The Pre tune sounds like it's been recorded while they were falling down the stairs....energetic and trashy and fun. I like this one. Yowie are what I'd term as a typical Skin Graft band with a jerky full bodied skronk about it. I guess it's where jazz meats rock but I didn't say that. Wonky... Colossamite is sort of post rock meets Chicago rock and it's fucking belter of a tune. Makes me want to check out the album...I'm gonna have to dig out my old Jesus Lizard records... Purple wax and did I say there was a comic with it?DOUBLE 7" COLOURED VINYL + COMIC BOOK. Limited/collectable!
