'Road Rage' sang Ant's old flame Cerys Matthews to him evertime she serenaded him in the bar of his local boozer The Leek & Rarebit. He just used to smile coyly at her and fall asleep in his pint of Vodka & Guinness (half & half boyo). Coki is one half of Digital Mystikz and their errant label DMZ has a new 12" out of the same name as the Catatonia "britpop" classic. It's got one of those insane, juddering wonky motherfucker basslines (ala 'Spongebob') that if put through Iration Steppas dub soundsystem up here in Leeds would probably break paving slabs and armoured vans in half and makes your guts feel like a liquid rollercoaster ride. The beats are itchy mid paced and prowl along like a mechanoid tiger. 'Triple 6' is a mellower, rootsier baby, with all the grace, space & atmosphere that you expect from this quiet genius. It's got some of those deep ragga MC vocal snippets in there and the bassline's a real classic Digital dub belter. Another classic for me. Their stuff never sticks around for very long because frankly, it's some of the very finest gear on the scene. Don't be silly billys and ponder here.Finish copy promo, Just in time for the Christmas stockings, DMZ come correct with a tune that demands you buy a new bass bin!
Minimal Industrial factory madness 'Triple 6' by Coki, Can't stress this enough, this is WICKED! Don't forget Coki - ‘Road Rage’ on
the flip. Highly recommended!
