Her Ghost/ I Think About Tomorrow by Tom Baxendale

5...according to our on Thu 11 Dec, 2008.

Here's another yeehawing stomp and this one is from Tom Baxendale. It's called 'Her Ghost I Think About Tomorrow' and it's released on pop's Great Pop Supplement label. Clinton is guest starring here today and he thinks it sounds like Steve Earle and Johnny Cash. It's a proper barn stomper of a tune taking in those yeehah aspects of country rock and turning them into a pretty classy sounding tune. I really like the guitar in it... sounds like some old Italian 60's fast widdly guitar which was used in many a film.... almost spaghetti western ish. All the while it sounds like it's been assaulted by all things bluegrass. It's a great little tune. I'm well impressed!!

beautiful debut 45 from London singer songwriter Tom Baxendale. ace blend of alt country, folk and Americana, with an A side rush of acoustic guitar and mandolin recalling atmospheric odes to love and loss.

The B side lowers the tempo and is way more gentle, recalling perhaps, 'gosdin brothers' era Gene Clark.

regular gigging partner to previous GPS debutant Pete Greenwood.
a pressing of 300 copies in gorgeously cool orange and green tracing paper booklets, again, not expected to sit around for long...
