OVERVIEW: 14th Floor Records are proud to present the magnificent 'Is This Christmas?' by The Wombats released on 15th December. It's a special one-off seasonal song released on 1 track CD and 2 x coloured 7 inches, with the band donating proceeds to MENCAP. The song also features comedian Les Dennis. In a year full of doom and gloom the lads want to bring some cheer to us all in the years closing month. Written and performed by The Wombats, 'Is This Christmas?' is produced with Stephen Harris (The Kaiser Chiefs). The single fully encapsulates The Wombats ethos of writing infectious, scuzzy indie-pop songs, served with an acid-wit that masks dark lyrical undertones of romantic despair and heartache. The track is backed by brilliant B sides on the vinyls, taken from their two huge London dates earlier this year. Ahead of the single releases, The Wombats will be playing a 7-date sold tour of the UK, including London Shepherd's Bush Empire and a massive homecoming headline show at the new Liverpool Echo Arena on 22 November. They will be one of the first indie bands to play the 10,000 capacity venue. The gig will be their final show of the year before they take a break from touring to work on their new album.
