God, my head has turned into a mid 80's electro/EBM rave. Antoni Maiovvi is the culprit. The opener to this 'Electro Muscle Cult' CD on Seed is called 'Tokyo Ultra Funk' and is built around the kind of pumping autobahn cruising disco that Ant (he of Norman fame) always starts playing me when we're drunk at his house, like the soundtrack to an imaginary John Carpenter film about be-mulleted kids having huge carpark drugnut raves and battles with Mecha-Godzilla behemoths. At the same time. Well apocolyptic-o. There's a strong Italo Disco essence to this full length CD overall, all tunes are capped at 133bpm, the synths shudder euphorically, the beats on some tracks are well steady, primitive and stomping and remind me of some of the early Balearic rave stuff. Then there's the swirling analogue electro bits that are so magnificent and hypnotic...you start to wonder is this an archive find or someone with their pulse firmly on the pioneering years, when post-disco meltdown, the dancefloors of the world were crying for something fresh, exciting and ecstatic. This CD makes me feel young and puts a lot of modern electronic muzak to shame with it's sheer exuberance. 100 numbered copies only suckers....Legendary Italo producers and virtual recluses since 84's minor hit
'(Rubbersex) Lover,' Maiovvi and Fortuna are set to drive a 12-litre
quadruple turbo charged double overhead cam shafted tarmac-chomping
flying machine straight through your video projector screen and into
your family's super sized fondo set. Spraying the room with bullets
that explode like glitter balls around your ears - but never hurting
anyone a la The A-Team - they'll douse your fitting body in a shower of
champagne cocktails and pina coladas whilst your wife and daughter
strip with gay abandon and the jock next door busts out a silver suit
and starts breaking on pop's manicured lawn. Robocop, Manimal and
Automan all watch on amazed before this disco dastardly duo declare the
death of Italo with:

Available late November on Seed Records (it's been in development since
79') and including the stellar Fabio Frizi 'Zombi 2 - Main Theme'
ultraNRG hypermix.
Catch them now before they move on to a more noise based project that
ain't half as fun or as sexy and involves the use of spilled entrails
from their various horror projects as microphone leads. Anyone for
French Fancies?
