Sleeps In Oysters - We Kept The Memories Locked Away Like The Beetles Of Our Childhood

We Kept The Memories Locked Away Like The Beetles Of Our Childhood by Sleeps In Oysters

Seed Records release a brand new limited edition CD by Sleeps In Oysters. For starters it looks amazing. It's in a cloth sleeve all buttoned up with a numbered Seed tag. Inside are 2 string wrapped brown packages. One with postcards in (I think) and the other with a shiny CD inside. It's one of the nicest things I've seen in a while and it's good to say labels making such lovely things. So I couldn't open one to review it but the label kindly sent me some MP3's. No idea of the running order though. The first one I'm listening to is very arboreal sounding with it's forest noises, electronic clicks and lush lady vocals. It's a carefully put together blend of electronica and folk and I reckon it's a bit lovely. It's not a million miles away from something you'd hear on the Static Caravan label to be honest! Very clicky electronica with beautiful wistful vocals and well crafted songs which don't follow a traditional route. Fans of The Accidental ought to seek 'We Kept Our Memories Locked Awaya Like Beetles Of Our Childhood'. Nice!

Sleeps in Oysters' debut mini-album on Seed Records is the sound of a ne plus ultra -granny's strawberry alarm-clock going off under her tie-dyed wig or for the aurally impaired, the colour splash of a fruit farm sliding down a rainbow into a exotic lagoon lit with fireflies and as seen through a kaleidoscope.

It's entitled, 'We Kept The Memories Locked Away Like The Beetles Of Our Childhood -Or- How To Appreciate Someone That Is Always Around,' and will be available in early November 08'

Limited to 200 copies worldwide, each unit is hand numbered and sealed in an individually hand sewn sleeve that contains special memorabilia made by the little people.  The CD also comes with specially recorded bonus material that won't be available in the MP3 version.
