Pocahaunted
Chains
A Norman Records recommendation (20th November 2008)

This record left our Phil feeling ecstatic.
And out of nowhere arrives this Pocahaunted LP on Teardrops. I can't believe there's not been a label called Teardrops before. I've heard bits by these ladies and always I've been reasonably interested in their work so I wanged this new on and was mightily impressed by what I heard with my ears. It sounds like they've nicked Jah Wobble as the bassline through half of it is well Public Image Limited. It's got them wailing all ethereally all over the shop with this amazing bassline ploughing through it like a combine harvester would do through a harvest all ready to be combined. The delicious feedback everywhere and distorted guitars make it sound a bit no wavey.... a bit like Patti Smith being sacrificed into a volcano. Tribal sounding drums along with Sonic Youthy style guitars and their wailing makes for a top record. Chains is on summery yellow wax.
