Stars And Sons have a new single out on Alcopop called 'The Ocean'. I've got no info on these guys and I'm too lazy to search the internet for 'em so I'm working with zip on this one. Well technically my ears and fingers are involved... and if you're gonna be like that I suppose there's my brain and eyes and my hole body in fact. Probably the chair I'm sat on too. It's all important. And what about the floor the chair is on.... and the walls keeping me warm. Hey it's never ending. What about the food I ate which gave me fuel to do this. Seriously there's so many factors involved in anything that when you do something wrong it's in theory never you fault as you can backtrack it to blame anyone. Brilliant. Well this starts off as a pleasant enough strum along which reminds of early Supergrass. I can't think who his voice sounds like... christ that's annoying. I quite like this anyway. As far as indie singles go these days it's got a bit of life about it and it's a decent tune and it doesn't sound like they're trying to be anything. Always a bonus... Mind you I'm not sure about the guitar solo in the middle which sounds like a rainbow being fired out of amplifier...| Glitter dance pop is the order of the day from this talented Brighton band. This, their debut 2 track 7″, is the start of something special. You’ll see. |
