I like lathe cuts I like lathe cuts I like lathe cuts. Though they do sound shit... I still like them. I can't help my self. They're all lathed and cutty everywhere. On Distraction records is a lathe cut square 8" job by The Retail Sectors. They're everyone's (or should be) favourite Japanese post rock band and on this is my favourite track from their last album 'The March of The Incurable Workaholic' (that resonates with me for some reason...). Anyway this version sounds rejigged. I think it may be live though it does sound like it's being played through a toilet. Fortunately you get a 320 kbps download coupon jobbie. Though I prefer it sounding a bit toilet to be honest. Not sure I'm doing a great job of reviewing this but I do like it. The corners of the discs are all numbered (by some poor sap with a knife and sore wrists I suspect) which does look a bit nice though. Very tasty indeed.

What their label says...

A very special release from awesome atmospheric Japanese post-rockers, The Retail Sectors. The genius of Kyoto’s Kentaro Togawa, this release features two tracks of beautifully simple melodic guitars that, when the drums kick in, take off like a plane on a flight into a vast sky of loneliness. The Retail Sectors' music moves through layers of sound that evolve and build upon each other only to be broken down to their foundations ready to evolve again. Already making ripples in his native Japan, these two songs are taken from Kentaro’s masterpiece of life’s ironies and death 'The Starlight Silent Night', on exquisite Japanese microlabel Symbolic Interaction.
