Milk Kan - God With An Ipod/ Prozac Blues

God With An Ipod/ Prozac Blues by Milk Kan

3...according to our on Thu 04 Dec, 2008.

Milk Kan have a 7" out on Blang. Normally a label to be trusted, what with top releases by David Cronenburg's Wife and that top single by Malcolm Kaksois. 'God with An Ipod' is as daft as it sounds. It's also as annoying as it sounds. It's unbelievably chirpy and cheeky and it's one of those novelty records you'll possibly enjoy on 1st listen and then want to murderise yourself if you're forced to hear it again. It's almost like a slightly lo-fi Fun Lovin' Criminals or something. Some of you may love it though. Not me.

An earthy fusion of bluegrass charm and old-skool hip-hop – MILK KAN’s third single is an infectious slice of irreverent humour that questions whether the devil really has the best tunes.  The first release from MK’s forthcoming debut album; and follows their previous unpublicized “white label” release of the Dolly Parton sampling “Here Ya Come Again and Again” and the critically acclaimed debut “Bling Bling Baby” – which hit 13 in the independent charts attracting national airplay and support from BBC luminaries Steve Lamacq, Jonathan Ross, Mark Radcliffe and Chris Moyles.  The track catapulted MK into a string of major league live shows supporting The Strokes at Hyde Park’s Wireless Festival, Babyshambles at East London’s Rhythm Factory, The Violent Femmes at Shepherds Bush Empire – as well as extensive UK tours supporting Hayseed Dixie and current punk-underground darlings The King Blues.
Blaggers, chancers, punks and urban poets – Milk Kan began as a two piece back at the end of 2003; as Scrappy Hood and Jimmy Blade picked up their mothers’ guitars and busked to the capital’s trains, tubes, and very-late night buses.  Following the release of their bedroom-recorded debut in 2004 they swapped public transport busking for the Lower East Side of Manhattan; gigging at local open mike haunts before returning to London and signing a deal with PIAS Records.  Late 2007 saw MK’s signing to emerging East London independent Blang – with their long-awaited debut album to be released in February 2009. Upcoming Gig Dates : Nov 1st New Cross Inn, London / 21st 12 Bar Club, London / Dec 4th The Gaff, London / Dec TBC The Deaf Institute, Manchester / Dec 18th, The Windmill, Brixton / Tracklisting:  A: God with an Ipod (LP mix)/ B: Prozac Blues / Tracklisting CD  1: God with an Ipod (radio mix)/ 2: Prozac Blues/3: God with an Ipod (acoustic
