It was during a brief sojourn in a an isolated cabin in nowhere Alaska, where Brandon Bethancourt found his creative inspirations which led to his solo
project, Alaska in Winter. After returning to Albuquerque, he began to flesh out his Alaskan recordings with a little help from some childhood friends including Zach Condon (from the band Beirut) and Heather Trost (from A Hawk & A Hacksaw). The resulting record was last year's critically acclaimed album, Dance Party in the Balkans (released by Liverpool's Regular Beat Records).
After the release, Bethancourt toured Europe and then moved to Berlin where he has spent the past six months writing and recording the follow-up
album, 'Holiday'.
