Primal Scream/ Suicide - Diamonds Furcoat, Champage/ Ghostrider

Diamonds Furcoat, Champage/ Ghostrider by Primal Scream/ Suicide

Here's another of those Suicide 10" things on Blast First Petite. This one is by Primal Scream and they cover 'Diamonds, Furcoat and Champage'. I've not really been a massive fan of Primal Scream over the years. I used to like Screamadelica but I can't really listen to it anymore and none of the other albums have really struck me. I quite like this though... with it's 70's glam stomp and the fact it's a top tune anyway means they can't really go too wrong on it. The cover is amazing..... It's got some weird pinheaded person on surrounded by bubbles. It's worth it for the sleeve alone. The flipside has Suicide's own version of Ghostrider (genius) and a chap called Conrad Standish doing Diamonds, Furcoat etc..... Not heard of him but it's a homoerotic Marc Almond/ Durtro Jnana ish electro version which couldn't be anymore different to the A side. Limited to 3000 numbered copies!

A limited edition of 3000 10" vinyl. The Scream get all glam-rocked up for this bouncing, sing-a-long led by Bobby "Stardust" Gillespie with the luverly stealth viciousness that is The Miss Kittin. A record that makes us think of Pans People, tight yellow and blue satin shorts and big, big hair. Crossing the time-line at three minutes, and thirty three seconds....the sign of the beast halved, the song freshly un-pickled, just like Damien (Omen or Hirst) would have wanted it served. Those boys Primal will be supporting the release with their 17 date UK nationwide NME Rock Riot tour. The B side features a version of Suicide performing "Ghostrider" from an only recently rediscovered demo taping of that first legendary album.......partnered with a slinky, Roxy Music-esque rendition of D.F.C. by Devastations, long tall leader, Mr Conrad Standish. A late night seduction reprise to the Primal's disco dong waggle. The perfect three course meal served on this very vinyl platter. Sleeve by China's Fang Lujin depicts dare we surmise China dreaming of it's new wealth, OR perhaps of our own up to minute western downfallings....Diamonds, Furcoat, Champagne, indeed
