Razorlight - Wire To Wire/ Mercury Jim

Wire To Wire/ Mercury Jim by Razorlight

Razorlight are back. I struggle to not call 'em Razorshite when I'm referring to 'em which I admit is childish but it's programmed into me now so I have no control over it. Anyhoo this new single sees them on typically savage form with a razorlike ballad not unlike the wistful gems of hipsters Peter Cetera or Elton John. I have to say 'Wire To Wire' is truly awful and though I've not been a fan of previous releases they sound a million times better than this massive pile of sentimental shit. Yeah it's better than I could do but then I don't love myself, release records and neither (and thankfully) have Jade Goody as a fan. The only saving grace of this is that's it's a single so it's over reasonably quickly.

Razorlight have sold 2.5 million albums in the UK in the last 4 years, spawning 3 top 3 and ..... top 20 singles (including the #1 smash 'America').

Now the anglo-swedish four-piece return with their third album 'Slipway Fires' on 3rd November preceded by the anthemic single 'Wire To Wire' on 27th October.
