Cheeky Cheeky & The Nosebleeds are up next with 'You'll Let Me Go'. Yawn... It's sending me to sleep this one. Apparently the NME and Jo Wiley have been biggin' these up so there you go... The gods have spoken ...I struggle to find a single element that I like about 'You Let Me Go'. Not that I hate it or anything. I don't hate anything... Apart from mechanically recovered meat. Apparently their set was almost cut short at the Underage festival when the dancing nearly took the tent down a scene described as "“a frenzy of angry sweaty boys, ripping each other apart” Fuck me, sounds like Lord Of The Flies.During a busy summer of festivals in which they were called “The highlight of the BBC Introducing Stage” at Glastonbury by Jo Whiley Cheeky Cheeky And The Nosebleeds have fully justified being made one of “The Top Ten New Bands to See This Summer” by NME. The band had a record number of crowd surfers when they headlined the Lake Stage at Latitude and most recently almost had their set cut short at Underage Festival when part of the tent collapsed such was the intensity of the dancing inside, NME described the scenes as “a frenzy of angry sweaty boys, ripping each other apart”. Now the band announce their second single ‘You Let Me Go’ which is released November 3rd on Twenty Years Of Boredom.
Since their debut release “Slow Kids” in March, Cheeky Cheeky And The Nosebleeds have swiftly garnered a loyal fanbase. Having toured supporting The Wombats and Joe Lean And the Jing Jang Jong, word of the band’s energetic, chaotic live show has spread far and wide. The band embark on their first headlining tour throughout October when they will be completing a heroic, 29 dates in 31 days culminating in their own Halloween Special at London’s Borderline on October 31st
Cheeky Cheeky And The Nosebleeds have come to be known for making the kind of smart, arch indie punk that the likes of XTC and Wire were making in the late seventies but with the relentless youthful energy (average age 19) of kids that were only born at the end of the eighties. ‘You Let Me Go’ was Produced by Iain Gore (Brakes, Kid Harpoon, Larrikin Love), it manages to combine the band’s love of 50s rock n’roll, 60s pop and 70s New York Punk. The single will come with an additional track ‘Can You Tell Her’
