Jonjo Feather - Taxi

Taxi by Jonjo Feather

Jonjo Feather follows on from his debut single 'I Suppose', with this sleazy, infectious offering 'Taxi'. After securing BBC6 Music Featured New Artist of The Week status, MTV2 120 Minutes airings, BBC Radio 1 support, critical praise from Artrocker, The Metro, The Fly, Sandman & many others, Jonjo's new single seeks to continue where the previous left off, but in a slightly more sinister vain. Jonjo is a pop star, a songwriter, a creative multi-instrumentalist genius who plays all the instruments on his recordings. But Jonjo is a bit different. In an era where insipid, populist melodies ooze from every available airwave, he crafts timeless songs but infuses them with a sense of the unusual. Working from a barn in Yorkshire, Jonjo solders microphone wires into old telephone cradles and writes songs with his guitar purposely out of tune in a quest for something other than the norm. These unusual proclivities started at an early age, when he had an epiphany and decided to ditch tuition. "Lessons got a bit of a drag," he says, "all that boring scales malarky. I got into My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth and realised that it wasn't about music theory but  making noise that you're happy with." TIM CHESTER - NME. With a name like this you know you're in for someting 'quirky'. Dirty rock'n' roll with a forgivable smudge of affectation.' - Metro / '...Jonjo Feather makes the sort of possessed psycho-rock that makes us think E from eels may have been the local horny milkman...a cleavered slice of menacing fuzz-pop. Ace.' THE FLY / 'There's nothing not to fall in love with as far as Jonjo Feather is concerned.' - This is Fake DIY / 'Wonderful stuff. Own this or fuck off and die.' – Unpeeled / 'Haunting, and ever so slightly scary.  I like it.' – Artrocker / 'This track is ace in every way.' – Kruger / '...all the collective talent that should have been evenly distributed to teenagers has been given to one person, his name is Jonjo Feather....this cd is amazing....you just have to get yourself a copy now.' SANDMAN / Radio & TV plugging for 'Taxi' is being worked by Scruffy Bird PR (Bombay Bicycle Club, The Dandy Warhols, Foals, The Raveonettes). Press  to run in NME, Rocksound, Plan b, Artrocker, Organ and many more tbc still.
