First released in October 2007 and now available from Cargo, the second release for Rag & Bone offshoot label Starksound delivers two slabs of bass heaviness. ‘Bounce’ features an infectious vocal you can’t help following, driven by a truly charged dubstep bassline impossible to resist, and one which has been a key feature of many DJs sets for the past 12 months. ‘Prism’ is an original take on all things halfstep, pounding out its beat and bass and layered with a deep, sublime, electronic hook. PJ Geissinger has been performing as Starkey for only three years but has already gathered considerable attention for his original sound, thanks to releases on Lo Dubs, Werk Discs, and Peace-Off.  He was also one of the selectors on Mary Anne Hobbs’ recent Generation Bass showcase session, just started up his own label Street Bass Anthems, and has albums in the can for both Planet Mu and Lo Dubs.
