King Cannibal (a new moniker for the bass-obsessed creations of seasoned producer Zilla – also known round these endz as Cargo old-boy Dylan Richards) uses the essence of drum & bass in the Limewax / SPL / Technical Itch style and re-works the sound into a breakstep epic. Intense drums and a searing hook fall away to a filtered breakdown that leaves your heart racing. ‘A Hundred Eyes Closed’ on the flip uses similar components but evolves a more ghostly, Vex’d-like workout that is loosely dubstep but goes somewhere darker and more twisted.
