Just in is the latest offering from Diplo which is pretty much a guaranteed party starter. 'Blow Your Head' with it's amen break and oldskool samples including the most sampled man on the planet and hardest working man in show business James Brown. The synth I cant put my finger on but It's like a Public Enemy tune which at this moment in time escapes me. Shame on me. 'Must Be A Devil' uses a Pixes sample and works it into a floor friendly track that I can happily live without. On the B-side are 3 remixes of 'Wassup Wassup' Ft. Rye Rye. Crookers, Bart Bmore and DJ all turn in competent Baltimore style mixes. Comes with a coupon for free downloads of all the tracks.Diplo has been everywhere in the last couple of years, producing huge tracks like MIA's ‘Paper Planes’, remixing Coldplay, Radiohead, Feist, Hot Chip and Black Lips, and of course managing the Mad Decent label and roster of artists… but he hasn't had an official solo release out for the longest time, and ‘Blow Your Head’ is his first new vinyl in more than two years. He's been working on the tracks here in different phases for over a year, so even if you've heard some of them already, these are all new mixes and none have appeared on vinyl before. ‘Blow Your Head’ is a remix of his own production ‘Wassup Wassup’ featuring Rye Rye, more like a dub mix of the track, using vocals sparingly and killing the clubs with huge drums. Just as massive, ‘Must Be A Devil’ might be Dip's best production yet, reworking a Pixies line into one of his signature dancefloor sweat messes. B-side contains remixes from European heavy hitters Crookers and Bart Bmore, and Philly Club king DJ Sega. Full colour picture sleeve, with free download code for 320 mp3 version.
